Happiness Is a Choice, Yes or No?

Happiness Is a Choice, Yes or No

Happiness is a choice, do you believe that? People are constantly seeking “things”. We seek new cars, new houses, new partners, new clothes. We also seek new, additional family members, but what are we ultimately seeking? We are seeking “happiness”. Why? If Happiness Is a Choice – Why Do We Seek To Be Happy?

We seek happiness, because with happiness we feel like we have achieved something good.. We feel that happiness is the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, We feel at peace with ourselves, maybe even content.

Happiness has a higher “value” than any other commodity in the world, however it comes disguised in the shape of a car, a new home, money, a child, even a computer game.

Can We Choose To Be Happy ?

I think we can. Here’s why..

We can choose to think in any way we want, towards any situation.

It’s not what happens to you that matters. It’s how you respond to what happens to you that makes a difference.”- Zig Ziglar

If someone dies, that person has physically gone from our lives,  However we can be sad at the passing of that person, or we can celebrate the life of that person. After all, they are at peace now, right? We can relive each happy moment with that person for the rest of our lives if we choose to.

This is how we all “live on”. Make yourself happy, by making others happy.

So, it’s how we choose to feel, that decides how we are going to feel. Hence, if we really wanted to, we could feel happy right now, right this minute. I truly believe, we are happy the moment we truly decide we are.

Yes, you can feel sorry for yourself, you can play that record over and over in your head. You can keep beating yourself up over the things you did wrong, the money you don’t have. OR, you can celebrate each day. Each day is another day that you are alive on planet Earth.

Each day is another day you can enrich yourself and others. You can choose the way you feel.

Here’s How I feel Happy Most of The Time

Anyone can do this exercise. You just have to believe it works.

Step 1. Believe in yourself

You are a positive miracle, you came into this world against all odds (Scientists have calculated the probability of you existing as YOU, are about one in 400 Trillion.). That’s a pretty big number. Source

Think about that for a moment. You are a walking miracle. Believe in yourself. When you believe in you, others will follow. A part of happiness is being valued. If you don’t value yourself, others won’t either.

We are bombarded by other people’s success stories everywhere you go. Sometimes a person can be intimidated by these successes and they feel “unworthy” compared to those people. Believe that whatever they have achieved, they probably worked hard for it. Often or not the only difference between them and you is they learned a skill and took action on it.

You can choose to be successful in anything you want. Success is just like happiness, you make a choice.

Step 2. Be grateful every day

Instead of thinking about all the things you don’t have. Concentrate on the things you do. Every morning, I think about all the things I’m grateful for. The very fact that you woke up, should be one.

Focus on what you do have, instead of what you don’t have. Focusing on bad things, just brings MORE of them, this is my experience.

Step 3. Get yourself around positive, happy people

I know this isn’t always possible if you live within a negative environment, however you can always find  positive books and audios instead. Put things into your head each day that will move you towards being happy.
